2. Host update-WACOSA
   • Doris gave update- WASCOSA had 45^th anniversary.
   • WACOSA does individual placement, community crews and in-house work. 
   • WACOSA has a new document shared program. 
   • Steve Howard-starting July 1^st as new Executive Director.
   • Thank you Doris for the great giveaway and information on prevention of identity theft.

3. Training opportunity: Business Advisory Council Members
   • Learn more about Business Advisory Committees.  Come to JPD meetings to learn more at these great trainings!

4. Good news to share
   • Justine had Chase Michael Cloutier
   • Nick was in on panel discussion. Regarding: disability, sexuality and gender.
   • MCIL is three months into ICS collaboration with WFC.  Doing many soft skills trainings.
   • Nick is working to have more impact for transition services.
   • Angela Amics birthday today.
   • Ashley Herman birthday yesterday.
   • Hollie is transitioning to a case management position at Goodwill.

·         OP has modules, can take one or all $50/hr 1:1 go to participant

·         WACOSA has group training

·         Does anyone receive interactions with transition age youth?

·         VR- Minnetonka

·         Goodwill retail skills

·         Apple Valley and White Bear have great programs

12. Committee reports

Governmental Affairs – Nick Wilkie/Ross Keveles

• Nick will work on putting 3 questions that members can bring to legislators during their reelection campaigns
• Nick will try to contact with the legislators and look at bills to follow the summer before session gets busy.

Membership/Marketing – Felicia Amundsen/Dave Russell

·         Need to decide on who is in drying from membership drive Sarah and Lindsay!

·         35 members now which was our goal J

·         9:00 a.m. membership meeting before JPD meeting at Courage Center

Training- Ashley Herman

·         Training on May 16^th had very good response.

·         Committee is meeting today will discuss fall pre-conference topic

Northeast – Tyler Witzke

• No report

Northwest – Roxanne Ryan

• Sterns, then 10 employment Council revamping focus to English as second language and moving towards more online classes with training certificates.
• Will soon be selling their training programs to others. Some hotels coming in.

Metro – Ryan Hoffman

• Ryan sent an e-mail to David Russell Thursday, June 19, 2008 at 7:07

to update David.  Ryan had three points of interest stated in this e-mail

• First of all Ryan wanted to bring attention to the fact that summer was beginning and about a third of 16 to 19-year-olds will be able to find summer positions, that will possibly impact our clients competition for positions during the summer months.
• Second, Impact Mailing a direct marketing firm will be expanding in the Camden Neighborhood of Minneapolis.  Impact Mailing will be adding about a 100 jobs, these additional job openings may be great positions for many of our clients
• Third, Ryan recently spoke with a few counselors in Brooklyn Park about the possibility of getting someone to start their own business transporting people up to the Walgreens facility in Rogers.  If anyone knows someone who does this type of thing it could be very helpful.

    • MRA can post job leads!
