Lindsey called meeting to order at 3:40 pm introductions- Welcomed new Members

153 attendees here at Grand Rapids!  Start to plan falls Conference Oct 8-10 in Mankato

Ryan- Not cold anymore!

Nick – April 1st Kick off of MCIL&WFC Collaborative Il Worker are helping with job seeking prep skills.

Doreen Hoffman-Promoted to placement Coordinator

Sara- Are Agencies Turning down referrals

Answer: Goodwill’s usually doesn’t, hasn’t faced it

 

Tom- When to Stop PBA& Circumstance?

Answer:      Ryan Individuals Basis – set expectations.

Hollie- worked in placement for –2yrs only closed one

 

Nick- wondering about why physical disabilities referrals aren’t seen – Are they getting referred for placement?

Answer:     Kirk 60/40 with Physical DX

Tyler- Placement w/ returning for marketing skills

Felicicia Usually didn’t need render service

Got money Straightened Out – States PO went to TCF over 1000- Tammy is working on it

Governmental Affairs-Nick Wilkie/Ross Keveles

Nick: Presentation tomorrow This year has been the most successful In participation- Had three good events.

Ross- MN day at Hill was “really really cool.” Had local National Legislators come speak?

Pre-day training was well received.

Legislation: Universal Health care Transportation, hop topic

 

Membership/Marketing-Felicia Amundsen

Felicia- Thanks to Dave Russell as new co-chair

Membership/marketing drive has been successful 4 new members

-Doris has 3 people from Rise signing up

-Sara Spoke to Midwest special services might sign up 2 if still eligible

-29 members in February

-Looking at a summer Membership drive

-Look at creating Excel Spreadsheet if agencies people contacted for past drive to use for future membership drive.

Doris reported central MN hoping for a pick up with tourist seas on increase

-ING expanded 400 employees to 800 Elk River&Rogers keep building/ growing.

 

Metro- Ross Keveles

Going to step down from Position since he’s not doing placement

-tough finding jobs

- Lisa- Macys lay off will put 900 skilled

-Ryan Fleet Farm

-David NWA Laid off 400

-Lisa- other corporation doing lay off of 40-50 – increasing

-Ryan Volunteer to be metro Rep appointed by Lindsey

 

Southeast- Theresa Duncan

Theresa –no report.
