BANK SKILLS TRAINER, Exempt, Full-time, Grade 7

Roles/Responsibilities: This position is responsible for conducting training and case management services and providing instruction on personal banking, banking terminology, customer service, sales, basic ten-key operation, cash counting, balancing, handling debit and credit transactions, basic computer skills and professional development for participants referred to our Bank Skills Training Program. This program is a 6-week, 120-hour course designed to provide job skills to individuals who have barriers to employment and need assistance in making the transition to work, by teach skills necessary to successfully obtain and maintain employment in the banking industry Minimum Requirements: BA degree in finance, education, social service or related field OR 5 years of relevant work experience. Must also have excellent verbal and written communication skills, good organizational skills and be computer literate. Training, vocational education or teaching experience is strongly preferred.

 

RETAIL SKILLS TRAINER, Exempt, Full-time, Grade 7

Roles/Responsibilities: This position provides training services for Goodwill/Easter Seals’ Retail Skills Training Program, an eight-week, 160-hour course designed to provide job skills to individuals who have barriers to employment and need assistance in making the transition to work. Responsibilities include teaching skills necessary to successfully obtain and maintain employment in the retail industry; providing instruction in retail terminology, cash handling, customer service, sales, zoning, stocking and safety; and providing case management services. Minimum Requirements: BA degree in education, social service or related field OR 5 years of relevant work experience. Must also have excellent verbal and written communication skills, good organizational skills and be computer literate. Training, vocational education or teaching experience is preferred.

 

EMPLOYMENT/SUPPORT CONSULTANT - Ramsey County MFIP, Exempt, Full-time, Grade 7

Roles/Responsibilities: This position is responsible for providing employment readiness, job development, and job placement and retention services for individuals in the MFIP program. Minimum Requirements: BA degree in vocational rehabilitation, human services or related field; two years of paid experience as a vocational rehabilitation counselor or similar paid experience in vocational counseling, placement OR 5 years of relevant experience in placement/job development. Previous MFIP employment experience preferred. Valid driver’s license required.

Minimum Qualifications:

Requires a bachelor's degree in rehabilitation and human services, vocational rehabilitation, social work, psychology, counseling, or human resource management (human service track) AND:

  • Four years experience working with special populations in a direct service capacity; OR
  • Two years of experience as a vocational rehabilitation counselor; OR
  • A master's degree in one of the above disciplines.

Preference will be given to applicants who meet the ND Qualified Rehabilitation Professional (QRP) standards as follows: a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC); a master's degree in rehabilitation counseling or a counseling-related field from a program accredited by the Council on Rehabilitation Counselor Education (CORE) or the Council on Accreditation of Counseling-Related Programs (CACRP); OR a master's degree in a closely-related field and eligibility to write the Council on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification (CRCC) Examination. COLLEGE TRANSCRIPTS ARE REQUIRED WITH APPLICATION.

Summary of Work:

  • Carry a caseload that covers the full range of physical and mental disabilities with special emphasis on substance abuse groups.
  • Work with culturally diverse population.
  • Provide services to assist clients in coping with their disabilities and in achieving their vocational goals.
  • Provide counseling to clients on setting realistic vocational goals. This may require some adjustment to counseling approaches or styles.
  • Select evaluation instruments and techniques appropriate to the client’s situation.  
  • Determine appropriate community resources for the client’s needs.
  • Evaluate the client’s social support system.
  • Determine the client’s ability to perform independent living activities.
  • Make recommendations to the employer regarding modifications of job tasks to accommodate the client’s functional limitations.  
  • Participate with advocacy groups to promote public awareness and legislative support for rehabilitation programs.
  • Negotiate financial responsibilities for the client’s rehabilitation with referral source and/or sponsor.
  • Determine program eligibility based on state and federal regulations.
