FALL CONFERENCE FOOD DRIVE!!!!!

Minnesota Rehabilitation Association teams up with ECHO FOOD SHELF

Food shelves across America are in great need of donations and MRA is doing their part to assist in this shortage.  The fall conference is holding a food drive for a local Mankato food shelf.  Conference attendees, please consider bringing a grocery bag of food or make a donation (checks made out to Echo Food Shelf) and receive a raffle ticket for the grand prize of “4 -  Park of America -  Unlimited Ride Wrist Bands!”

ECHO FOOD SHELF Mission Statement
Preventing Hunger through emergency food assistance.

Food Donation
although money is often the most efficient donation, giving actual food is also an important way to give to needy families. Nearly any kind of food may be donated. It is often easiest to think about what foods your regularly eat and consider donating some of these same items to the shelf.

The Emergency Community Help Organization (ECHO) provides food assistance to households in need in Blue Earth County and North Mankato.

ECHO began in 1981 in a church basement in Mankato and was intended to provide short term food assistance to people in the Mankato area. As the need for assistance has grown, ECHO has relocated twice to larger facilities.

Today the food shelf also provides help to people in Blue Earth County and North Mankato with both short and longer term needs and serves an average of 30-40 households per day. Over 2000 households receive assistance.
